Welcome to bgirecords.com.
We are proud to present our favorites in jazz guitar and Brazilian music. Our current catalog consists of three works by guitarist Ben Sher.
Please Take Me to Brasil (Me Leva Pro Brasil) is our most recent release. On this record Ben Sher and his group TudoBem dive deep into Brazilian territory exploring works by Baden Powell, Antonios Carlos Jobim and some compositions by Ben written in traditional chorinhos and baio style. Special guest Kenny Barron adds his unmistakable sound to five tracks.
TudoBem? is the debut release for Bens current group Tudobem. It features Ben playing with all of his fiery jazz chops along with an all star Brazilian rhythm section, Ray Barettos tenor saxophonist Adam Kolker, pianist Fred Hersch and the wonderful vocalist Luciana Souza.
Handprints is a fine jazz guitar record where Ben shows his be-bop chops alongside jazz greats Mike Clark, Dennis Irwin and Bruce Barth.
We hope you enjoy listening to the music as much as we did making it!
BGI is distributed through City Hall Records,
